Which picture are you referring to? If it's the first picture and the guy on the far right in the red and green kilt with the long sleeves, that's a ring buckled belt with some kind of a belt pouch.

No worries - but I'll warn you up front that I wore a ring-buckled belt consistently for years before ditching it for a regular buckled belt.

The long "tail" hanging down will cause problems. I lost all of the hair on my left thigh one event because I'd left the tail hanging just a bit "forward" of its usual spot, and did a LOT of walking. The "tail" kept slapping my leg, and eventually removed all of the hair in that spot.

Also, they're a pain in the butt to get adjusted comfortably and KEEP them there.

I'd recommend against the rig he's using, especially with a kilt.

I'll second that. I wear one all the time for SCA and its find if you dont -depend- on it to keep something up. Like your kilt. It slowly works loose and you have to tighten it regularly. This is fine if it just has a pouch and maybe a tankard on it, but not so good when it is holding your plaid closed and up. Super easy to make though.

That's a great example of why they nicknamed him Bullfrog.

Daz, have you ever been to the Sheriffmuir Inn? Venison steak pie to die for, trust me.

Here are a couple of images from that same night as the video. As KCW mentioned, Jamesie had pulled his dirk during one of the songs he performed (Claymores, perhaps??) at G-burg. Well, in Alba, it's not so unusual to see a LOT of the sharp, pointy objects being brandished. And note the low ceiling.

At the Kings House Hotel, there are obvious scars in the ceiling from the odd pointy thing or two being brandished.
