    Weathered Lamont #2

Thought I would post some more pics of my SWK HW Weathered Lamont kilt, this time with the new brown hose.

    Awesome pics!

It seems as though you're enjoying your SW as much as I do mine. The brown hose do compliment nicely.

Great look! Very subtle with all the muted earth tones that seem to match perfectly. I'll bet that Hamish gives it his blessing.

That's the first look I've had at the new Stillwater heavyweights. It looks like they're made pretty well.

Yes, he most certainly does!! Very nicely co-ordinated, KCW. Well done.

However, just one itsy-bitsy criticism, if I may: I should like to see a wider, stronger-looking belt on you with this combination of good things! The sporran is dominating and needs to be balanced with a bit more belt. Apart from that......... perfect!

Very handsome kilt KCW - and the brown hose look terrific with it. I agree with Hamish about the belt - if you're up for a do it yourself project - look up my old "$16 kilt belt" thread. In fact I just made a black belt - all it takes is a little time and some elbow grease.

    Anyway - great looking kilt!

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments, especially kudos from Ham!

Ham and Phil picked out the only part of the ensemble that I myself am unhappy with, the belt! I was hoping to find one at the Gatlinburg Games, but the only one I found in brown was not really in a shade I liked, and was $55 to boot. The belt in the pic is the best I have found for a reasonable price, but is too narrow. The black belt I wear with most of my kilts is 1 3/4", which seems to be a good width. I would love to find a brown belt in a similar width, but I have been unsuccessful. If I can't, I might have to try Phil's self made belt.

I really like the Buzz Kidder casual kilt belts. The Scottish Tartans Museum also carries them.

The only problem is the brown may not be dark enough for you. The belts are wide, heavy leather that should last a LONG time.
