Anyhoo--- Apropos your questions about marketing strategies, since it looks like you are making this tartan you designed available to the public, are you suggesting that anyone can wear it, presuming they understand what it is and what it's for? There's been much discussion on this thread about respecting clan membership, and certain branches of the uniformed services having exclusive use of their own tartans (and camouflage). I'm guessing that since this one was never part of an actual sanctioned uniform, you have a broader purpose in mind.

Sorry i did not make it clear, we are only going to market it to those who are current SF Association members or who can show us their DD214 or other proof of SF qualification. I recognize it might be viewed as a limited audience, but there are chapters of SFA in every state (more than one in some states) and all over the world. I apologize for any confusion i may have wrought. Also, when my team sergeant and i embarked on this project, our primary purpose was to create a tartan to memorialize the SF. The only excuse i have is that i'm a newbie. And i truly appreciate all of the help that i have gotten from you folks on this, including tips on associations etc. to contact. Forums like this can help get the word out and your emphasis that you don't necessarily have to be Scottish to enjoy wearing a kilt will help get non-Scots SF types to acquire one. Thanks again and sorry for the rambling.
