Absolutely NOT, SB! Absolutely no way - not even to bolster my Kilt Kollection. Every kilt in the Kollection I have worn, do wear and would wear again in public, but I could NEVER wear anything like that, not even in the privacy of my own bedroom with the lights out!!!!!!!

I'm with Ham on this one, second thought maybe if I was going to San Francisco to meet Wavy Gravy I might wear a tie dye.

I applaud Riverkilt's desire for a very nontraditional (read: non-Scottish) color scheme. It seems the natives of the American Southwest frequently used bright colors and patterns for ceremonial purposes and, perhaps, to break up the dreariness of desert landscape.

I'm saddened by Hamish's adamant refusal to even consider the conspicuousness he would acheive by sporting such colors; especially surprised that such an ardent supporter of the Utilikilt phenomenon does not have an example of every one of their creations.

Put it down to my British reserve, W2F!! It is not just the kilt - I have never liked tie-dye anything, I'm afraid. I'm actually a very conservative conformist deep down!
Utilikilts? I believe that Steven Villegas was one of the prime movers in bringing the traditional kilt into the 21st Century (though Howie Nicholsby just beat him to it, on a slightly different compass reading!), and I snatched up a number of his earliest creations but I really think he has begun to lose the plot with some of the recent 'designs'! For example, those ghastly, satiny things that remind me of Grandma's old bloomers are an abomination!! Sorry Steven if you read this, but you know my feelings.
No, I am proud, very proud, to have 11 Utilikilts in my Kollection, but it consists only of kilts that were made for me to wear or others that I have selected from 'the racks' to wear. I do not acquire kilts just to bolster the Kollection!
