Black in the sun?
No !!!
I made the mistake of traveling in a black watch kilt a few years ago and found myself on the sunny side of the train. The train was full, so I could not change seats, and it was one of the hottest journeys I have ever made -- because of the the dark cloth, not because of the season. dark trousers would have been even more uncomfortable, i suppose.
Highlandcelt looks great, but I don't envy him his outfit.

well... my kilt is almost solid black, but it's absolutely not a heavyweight, even when it's 100% wool. Just good enough for this hot country to avoid feeling cooked inside! ... at least last saturday I felt quite ok!.
...just a detail of the kilt....:

¡Salud!
