Because I am an Army veteran and still work for the Army as a civilian, I wanted a jacket to wear for dressier events. I already have a formal black jacket, so I wanted something to wear for less formal occasions, hence an Argyll jacket, but I can still dress it up if desired.
My vote is for the "old army" blue.
