    Retirement Party

One of the women I work with is retiring and we're having a get together for her at one of the local bars this evening. Her last day was Wed and while I was wishing her a good retirement she asked me if I was going to wear my kilt. Moments later her daugher asked the same thing. Well, when the guest of honor and her daughter want you kilted what are you going to do? I'll have my Livingston tank with a black polo shirt, pictures to follow.

When you recieve such a gracious and sincere request, there would be no excuse not to comply.

Well, I think I'm awake now after spending WAY too much time at the bar last night. Good thing they ran out of single malt It is a redneck/Hispanic type place so I wasn't too sure about wearing the kilt. The place was mostly empty when I walked in but Linda, her daughter and her daughters bf were there. Immediatly Linda and Susan had to have their picture taken with me (they'll send them over next week). By the end of the night Don was saying he had to get a kilt and then turned around and said he didn't think he had the intestinal fortitude to wear it. As has been said many times before here, the ladies ALL loved it. One even wanted to pet my badger sporron in front of her husband. Too bad I don't have one One of the guys from work that was there is from Wales. His wife was trying to get him to get a new cilt, he had sold the one he had since it was too small. Got stopped by one of the Hispanic gentlemen there (oh boy, here we go). He had loads of positive questions, might have made a convert there. Several of the other wives of co-workers enjoyed it too. Then there was the couple that sat across the deck. She was constantly looking.....till her husband moved them to another part of the bar All in all, a great evening that just lasted TOO late.

    pleasing the host

I had mentioned it a while back, but like you, I was also asked to wear my kilt to the finance womans going away party. Unfortunetly for me, some of those in attendence were burnt out former Special Forces types, and the only way to relive the good old days was to keep lifting my kilt from the rear. Every lady in the room wanted her photo with me, and also had great support from the Chilian Special forces guys. All in all, just like your event, it went well and was accepted.

Good job! As kilted Gentlemen, when a lady expresses interest in our kilts, we must do the gentlemanly thing and wear the kilt for them.

One thing I forgot to mention, watch out for single women in their mid-sixty's at their retirement party. She kept putting her digital camera below the table while sitting across from me. Good thing I knew how to sit properly and all she got were pics of the sporran Yes, I did get ahold of the camera and go thru her pics to be sure.
