    So many good shows!

I have seen a few of the shows suggested and agree that the British comedies are some of the best. Black Adder, Fawlty Towers, and Are you Being Served are three fine examples although I have seen quite a few of the other shows and they also make for a most enjoyable watch. I much prefer these productions over regular TV here.
I'll have to check out Hamish MacBeth, The Goodies and a couple more that have been suggested. Thanks.
I have to say though that Monarch of the Glen was particularly good, especially the early shows. I enjoyed Richard Brier as Hector even more than his role in Good Neighbors. I will be a little depressed when I have been through them all. On the plus side I am getting older and will probably forget many of the story lines so in a few years I can see them "new" all over again.

    Cheers! Bill

I recommend all the above comedies!

If you don't laugh at 'the German' epsidoe of FT's then you have no sense of British humour.

Also, if you like comedy and films, GET THEE THE MONTY PYTHON MOVIES! All of them if you can, fine British films with a quite comedic cast.

Black Adder is truly amusing, BA goes forth is the best imho...

Not sure how well 'the office' went down in the USA but it went down well here.

    Anyway, that's all for now!

    James

EDIT: Before I forget, Allo' Allo' is also a funny British comedy series set in WWII France, search it and watch it.

Blackadder (got all the T-shirts) and Fawlty Towers are two of my favourites. I don't think it qualifies as "Britcom", but Father Ted is excellent as well.

It's got to be the British version though. I find the US version extremely painful. "Dwight" is no Gareth Keenan, and "Michael Scott" is a pale comparison to David Brent. Just a personal opinion of course

And yes, we've had that one too. As well as things like "Two and a half men". Ummmmm - not great?

Lets not forget Thin Blue Line (with Rowan Atkinson) and Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister.
Are you Being Served is my absolute favorite (well maybe tied with Absolutely Fabulous). There are several episodes with kilts in it as well. One with a sporran cam, one with the staff as highland dancers, and one where Mr. Humphries has to take the inside leg of an older Highland gent who has never worn trousers

After the bbc stopped showing Monarch, I staarted watching Ballykissangel. I watched when I could, but when the priest started making googoo eyes at the owner of the pub, and then they killed her off....I just had to stop. Well , they gave the series a week off and now its back on. Maybe I'll go back and watch it.
