Iolaus, don't even think about it. It's your anniversary for goodness sake. What's the good of dieting and getting in better shape if it makes you less than happy during the important moments in life. Go, have a good time, and eat what you want. Then get back to your diet the next day.

Just don't start having "anniversaries" every couple of days.

Nah...I think you need to treat yourself once in a while...just don't overdo it.

Besides nice food doesn't automaticly means...unhealthy food.

    Enjoy! You deserved it!

    Oh...and congrats btw

I have been hitting the gym and the pool alot since I quit smoking 3 months ago. So far I have dropped 20lbs of chub and added 10lbs of muscle. It helps that during the hot weather I just want fruit, veg, and bbq.

Iolaus, that is a great looking menu. I too am a garlic fiend, so too many good choices there. Happy Anniversary

Great to see a rugger here, played actively 66-90, then went to the Oldies so i could say i have played in 5 decades. But am feeling every bit of it, but with the pain comes great memories, at least those not washed out at the parties.

Down to 211. I dropped below 210 a couple of times last week, but with the beer and food at the Irish festival, and a family birthday party, I really over-indulged this weekend, so it looks like this morning's weigh-in is probably accurate. Oh well, it's still lower than two weeks ago.

    My own wee contribution.

Started my diet a month ago. I was 325 then. I weighed in at the doctor's office today at 305. I was shocked at how much I dropped but realistically I don't think that rate is going to hold up over the full course of my diet (getting down to the nice round number of 200 pounds even, which is what my doctor recommends I should be at).

My diet is not anything complex or hard to follow. I am just counting calories, and more or less eating whatever I want (though I am watching out for foods that are just plain bad for me like potato chips or other greasy foods). I have to stay under 2000 calories a day but often I end up the day around 1200-1500 calories. I'm also walking a bit.

Keep up the good work fellas and I hope to see pictures of you all in skinnier kilts on the other side, maybe holding up the old "fat kilts" for comparison.

Yeah, it'll slow, but as long as the trend is on a downward slope, it's all good; at least that's my theory.

    Congrats on the loss.
