My worry isn't the PW (who is a good advertisement for the wearing of the kilt) but Wee Wullie. Has anybody seen him or his brother in the kilt? They may be Princes William and Harry of Wales, but they're also the sons of the Duke of Rothesay and the Lord of the Isles, and their grandmother is the Queen of the Scots.

Last weekend BBC America aired some shows in honor of the Queen's birthday. One of them showed a scene at Balmoral after their mother's death. Prince Charles and Prince William were both in kilt's. The thing that stuck out the most is that they were both wearing maroon colored hose. I don't think it complemented either of their outfits.
One of the kilts Prince Charles was wearing was of a green and white tartan. Has anyone seen this before and recognize it? Again he was wearing maroon hose.

Prince Charles certainly does dress well. The image below was taken on their first wedding annivesary, and the only tiny criticism I might have is that he's wearing a brown sporran with black shoes and a charcoal vest/jacket. However, the tartan is beautiful and all other details (including his hose) are impeccable, so who'd notice? I've seen pictures of him wearing that same sporran on several occasions.

For what it's worth, I think she dresses impressively well also. Beautiful in that tartan with the red feathered beret. She's a good match for him. Pity they didn't marry sooner.

If you're interested, you can read more about HRH here and enjoy a marvelous marvelous gallery here.

    Regards,

Lord of the Isles Hunting -- The Duke of Rothesay's version is lighter in colour than the version that available to the general public.

I can't say I've seen him wear maroon hoose with the LIH tartan, but I have seen him wear them with the Balmoral tartan, which is the tartan in the photo of HRH and the Duchess of Cornwall below. The Chief of the Campbells, the Duke of Argyll, frequently wears red hose with his Campbell tartan kilt.

    Cheers,

    Todd

I know that this is a bit off topic, but it does concern Prince Charles. What is/are his title(s). It can be a bit confusing to one who doesn't know. So he is AKA Duke of Rothesay? Is there protocol as when to use a certain title?
    Just curious.
