Small Town Kilting
Okay, Page really is an incorporated city...but our population is only 7,800 or about 10,000 if you include the town of LeChee' just over the line on the Navajo Reservation.
My lady's daughter's boyfriend is up and coming in the McDonald's at Tuba City, AZ. He was sent up here to Page for training at the Page, AZ McDonald's. She sent me this email.
Oh, and he said they started talking about Ronald McDonald and Bryan spoke up and said, "I know the REAL Ronald Macdonald of Page." One of the girls said, "No, that Ronald Macdonald wears a kilt and socks." Bryan said, "You know him?" And she replied no, that she has just heard.
So, gee, after a year of full time kilting even the folks who don't know me know...

You would think that a man in a kilt would make a bigger blip on the small town radar...

Being a native Arizonan, I'm not surprised that something as different as a man wearing a kilt in rural Arizona would catch everyones attention. It's just way outside the scope of their conservative cowboy background (especially up near the Rez).
At least when Bryan said he knew the real Ronald McDonald of Page, the gal didn't say, "No, not him, the other clown."
.
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

Ron, if you really wanna mess with 'em, just get a bright yellow kilt and some red-and-white striped hose…
