I blew-up my knee years ago - not fun... good luck with the surgery and pay attention to their instructions post-op and during recovery and re-hab!

Bill, sorry to hear about the injury and impending surgery. I have had cartilage taken from both knees, and twice from each knee! Not fun, but if you follow the PT instructions, you should be up again soon.

Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes. My surgery will probably be next Wednesday or Thursday, the PT guy says I'm doing much better than average, and I'm back at work (directing the crew from the comfort of a rocking chair at the nature center )
I never realized how handy the cell phone / camera combos are until now...my crew sends me pics of trail problems or snakes they can't identify and I call back the answer in a few seconds. Amazing.
