Welcome to the forum!
I have two kilts from them. First one ordered in Sep for Christmas (3 years ago). Promised, but came mid January. Second one delivered on time. Both good prices. They did respond to phone calls.

First, welcome to our little piece of the web where the addiction is well treated
My experiance with them was the same. Just do a search of the forums based on Clansman and you'll see more than one thread where they have promised the world and not delivered. I will NEVER order something from them again. MIGHT pick something up at one of the games if they are there but that is it.

I wasn't very impressed with their site. I think I'll stick with the more reputable sites, thank you.

Welcome to Xmarks. I too discovered this forum while seeking a place to "rant" about Ralph and his company, Clansman Knitwear. This forum is the only good part of my dealings with them. I finally had to resort to filing a Better Business Bureau complaint to get the items I ordered. Below is a link to Clansman's BBB record.

If you wish to file a complaint, contact them at:

If you want further info on my dealings with the company, PM me and I will send you copies of my email communications with Ralph. A small part of my problems are talked about in this Xmarks post.

Thanks for the links, Jerry. They confirmed my suspicions (sp?).

I've had nothing but bad experiences with this vendor, but my experiences have already been documented elsewhere here.
before making any further purchases, be sure to search and ask about vendors.

The only "good" experience I've had with them was buying from their booth at the Highland Games where I could lay hands on the goods, inspect them, pay, and take them with me then.
First encounter, ordered a Macdonald t-shirt. They sent me something with a raven on it....when I called to find out what clan's crest this was they insisted it was an "Ancient" Macdonald crest....right...maybe...but don't know anyone that would order a Macdonald crest today and expect a raven. Worse, the shirt was folded before the imprint was dry and the word Macdonald appears upside down, backwards, at an angle. They were so insistent they were right with overtones that I was stupid I just ate the loss. Life's too short.
Worst was last November 6th. In my quest for kilt hose for the coming winter I ordered five pair of kilt hose and two flashes from them after being assured they were in stock. On December 5th the hose and flashes were shipped to me....drop shipped FROM LOCHARRON'S WAREHOUSE IN KEARSARGE, NEW HAMPSHIRE!!! rather from Clansman Knitwear who purports to be next door in California.
This company, more than any other, has taught me to CAREFULLY research all the glitter and promises from the outfits offering kilt related items.
Do as you will brothers, but I have run from this outfit - unless I can score a deal from them at their booth at the games.
Sad, that businessmen with such attitudes and tactics seek to profit from the current kilt boom. There are good folks out there. You just gotta look, and be extra careful when you're new. Research the kilt boards. Trust those who have gone before you.

I don't feel like rehashing my dealings with them. They haunt me like a ghost.
All I'll say is they suck. Period.
