I for one am a big fan of the kilt with sandals. I think it is a pretty good casual look, and especially when it's really hot out. When I'm back in Bangkok, I'll probably wear sandals most of the time while kilted. I especially think it looks good with a nice casual polo shirt with the kilt.

I echo everything folks have said. I wear my Keens with my UKs all the time.
If you are buyng on-line, I would recommend Zappos.com. They typically have a greater selection of styles and colors than REI. The shipping is free but the price per shoes is more ($90v$95).
