Thank you all for the kind words, wishes, and prayers. One can always be assured of the courtesy, consideration, and compassion from the folks here at XMarkstheScot.

I picked up Badger this morning at the emergency clinic and they were unable to get him unblocked. After a few attempts they had to drain his bladder with a needle to keep him alive. They anesthetize for that so it reduced his pain. He is now at his regular vet who will try again. If they are not successful he will have to have surgery today. Poor little guy couldn't stop rubbing his head on my hands when picked him up even though he was still groggy from the anesthesia.

Bill - thanks so much for telling me about Mestopholes. It was so very encouraging to hear of his success. I won't mind if Badger gets hair on my kilt as long as he is here to do it. This forum has given me plenty of ideas on how to remove it and I already have a few lint remover rollers to start with.

Thank you again. I'll let you know how things work out. Keep Knuckles in your thoughts too. I hope to hear about a happy renunion for him soon too.

    Cheers! Bill

You and Badger are in my thoughts, I hope he gets better. I have cat of my own and I know we would be lost without our furry companions.

You and Badger are in our thoughts and prayers along with Knuckles. The wee beasts are the best friends we have and I am sure the majority of us would be lost without them. Please keep us updated.

When any soul under our care is hurting, we hurt with them, but I'm a firm believer that loving, even from a distance, makes a difference. I'm sure your Badger is better for it.

    Be well.
    Peace,

Sorry to hear about Badger's troubles. He sounds like a very affectionate guy.
My wife is a vet and she is always glad to see owners who don't just do the right things medically for their pets, but also give them the love they need to thrive as members of the family.

    Hope he gets better soon

    Cheers

Our best wishes are with you, Bill. Man, I hate it when an animal suffers.

We're lucky though. We found a very good vet that does house calls. He can't do emergency work in your home like what's going on with Badger or Knuckles, but all the usual care he can do here at the house. That keeps the stress level on the cats to a minimum and doesn't expose them to other sick animals unnecessarily at the vets office. He costs a bit more, but it's well worth it.

Hang in there. Keep us posted on Badger's and Knuckles' progress.

    Regards,
    Scott Gilmore

It's incredible how attached we get to our pets, isn't it? I hope they will be able to get Badger on the mend, ASAP.

All of you kind folks really know how to raise a persons spirits. I believe all of your collective good wishes are paying off. I'm not sure how all of it relates in the great scheme of things but there has to be some connection.

At the moment Badger is staying the night at the vets office. They were able to get him unblocked and now we wait to see how he is in the morning. I'm sure he is scared after all the trauma and now being alone in a strange environment without his sister and the rest of the family. It looks very favorable though that he will not have surgery but I will have to watch him carefully from now on. I'll be at the vets first thing in the morning to check on him and then hopefully Friday he will be able to come home.

Thanks for your collective shoulders to lean on. A BIG thanks to "X Marks the Scot" for allowing me the opportunity to make the post. It may seems foolish to some that a man of my age would be so concerned but there is very little that can tug at my heart the way any helpless creature can.

    Cheers! Bill

Thumbs up Hope is a good morning

All the best to you and badger. I'm sure home will be the best medicine for everyone. Open a can of tuna for him and rub those ears.
Lint roller will get the cat hair out of the kilt...or roll up some sticky tape around your hand and give the kilt a wipe down.
