Yes sir - and your question was....
Sadly, being part of a crowd seems to damn near excuse just about anything.
I always wonder if the bravura is there when would be lifters of the male type are unnacompanied by a pack of buddies ?
Probably just jealous I guess...

In almost all states, a handgun carry permit specifies concealed carry. So, yes, most of the time I think that would be very inappropriate. I do carry concealed with a kilt and usually it is in the sporran but sometimes it is IWB in the small of the back.
Though on a tangent, I am an outspoken proponent of open carry rights (and WITHOUT a permit!). I'd be happy to take that particular discussion private with anyone but don't feel it would be good mojo to go into it in depth in a kilt forum.

The integrated sporran on my Pittsburgh Kilt holds a medium frame autoloader (Bulgarian Makarov) perfectly, with the front half of the pocket being good to hold a couple of spare magazines. It doesn't seem to print, either, so I've carried often this way without arousing suspicion.
