I had never really examined how kilts were worn before I got my first one, but it just seemed to make sense that the opening should go to the front. I mean, how many men's garment can you think of that open in the back?

Now, I could see a women making that assumption, since many of their skirts and other garments DO open in the back.

    Maybe that's the answer.

"Honey, how does this go on?"

"Well, my skirt opens in the back, so maybe that does to."

These were no doubt rented kilts, the best man who picked them up didn't THINK to ask how in the world they worked, his wife told him and he told the groom and all the groomsmen. I think we figured it out! Blame it on the ladies!
