Oh dear! Another thread that I've missed! Sorry to be coming late to it.
Trousers? (Sorry again, I don't like the word 'pants' - they are worn under trousers!) Trousers are absolutely a thing of the past to me. I have not worn any, of any description, for seven years, one month, two weeks and four days!! As for actually owning any, well, I probably finally got rid of the last pair about six years ago.

I now have enough kilts of almost every description, jackets, doublets, shoes, boots and every kind of accessory (with the exception of fly plaids, which I dislike), to attend any event that might come my way. Everything from a Grand Ball at Buckingham Palace to crawling through the sewers (but I'd have to be paid very handsomely to do THAT!). Be it a football match or a funeral, I believe I could be appropriately dressed anywhere. So why should I need trousers - ever again? No, not me!

I still have all my pants as well as 2 suits, but I never wear them. I haven't worn pants since August of 2005. I don't even think about wearing them anymore. I should probably think about giving them to Goodwill so that they go to people who need them.

I will probably wear one of my suits in the near future because my father-in-law is in ill health. The only reason I'll wear the suit is so that I do not detract from the funeral, it will put my wife more at ease. Once the funeral is over I'll switch back into a kilt.

As far as "how does it feel to know that I'll being wearing a kilt every day," it feels wonderful. I plan my attire with more care, and take more pride in my appearance.

How long before kilts become commonplace? I would estimate 50 years, if at all (in westernized cultures). Things change very slowly.

    Darrell
