    We had a very good TV remote. My dad said "change the channel", I got up and changed the channel

    Didn't need to use a remote to flip through channels much anyway, there were only 4!

    That's just what I was thinking. We only had four channels, and only 1 or 2 if the weather didn't cooperate. And a remote is when you got someone else to change the channel for you.
