Like you, Ron, I've been kilted 11 months- though not full time as I continue to work in trousers. I'm a mechanic and its a filthy job. I'd hate to have to scrub my legs up to the knees AS WELL as my hands to the elbows every day. If I were to wear a kilt to work (there'd be no problem with management) it would have to be a black kilt that was up to VERY frequent laundering. Monday is my day to feel like I've returned to prison. A weekend of full freedom always seems to exacerbate the confinement. The rest of the week I'm OK with trousers while working. But soon, maybe very soon, I'll have to look into some economical work kilts. Hmmmm....do USAK casuals come in black?
I've kilt for less.

Wanted to post another note about cutting that mesh out of a man's swimsuit, DO IT! We went to the pool last night with the girls and I grabbed the seam ripper before leaving and spent a quick 3 minutes taking out the mesh lining. Ahhh, freedom. Much better. And I was careful to not cut the mesh that makes up the slash pockets, so I did nothing to alter the functionality of the suit, although why a swimsuit needs pockets, I have never really understood. Maybe if you wear them as shorts to the pool and want to carry keys, wallet, etc., then take them out when you arrive.
The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long

Rex, I commend you on actually admitting that you sometimes wear a thong!! I KNEW I was not the only one on here. Regimental is great, but when I'm working or playing hard I like to know exactly where things are and no undergarment I've ever had leaves me feeling as close to Regimental as a thong.
I wrote a post about the advantages of thongs in the 'speedos under the kilt' thread but I don't think it got published. I find it somehow odd that so many men who will try the grand departure from modern clothing of wearing a kilt would not at least try this practical garment at least once. For a prohibitted topic, "what is worn under the kilt," we certainly like to talk about it, Moderators included.
As for bathing suits I cut out the liner and, of course, wear a thong ... the purpose of the liner, and there IS a purpose, is to keep you from embarrassing yourself should you become aroused and to keep others from seeing up your shorts when climbing in and out of the pool ... it's the sporran of bathing suits.
Of course, skinny dipping is always more fun but how many folks actually have a place they can do that. I suppose that swimming in a kilt while Regimental could be a similar experience .... nah.
I'll tell ya what, if I had a place to go skinny dippin' it be .....
Kilt Off!!
