Sorry for your loss. Being the Black Watch tartan in must have fought with great valor in the face of certain death. Could it possibly be salvaged as a work kilt with some patch work? For work that does not involve high heat of course.

Ahhh, just tell people it got too hot under your kilt and that is what happened.

Sorry for the loss, but just think if it fell when you weren't near by and the lamp was on.

    DALE.

Glad it was only the kilt that got damaged....just as well Emma smelled it before that wee fire quickly developed into something really serious.

    Regards

P1M, are you sure ya young couple didn't get too excited and you tossed your kilt in a fit of passion on the fire? I hate to say it but now is the time to replace it with a natural fiber. I only say this in the buzz of post world cup pub crawl...sitting in my Scots American and Hawick RSC polo and smoking ol hickory tobacco in a long stem Hans Christian Andersen pipe...BTW, don't dry your hose in the dryer. What was i thinking.

There must be a ceremony somewhere for the destruction of a damaged Kilt. Much like the ceremonial burning of a flag that has been damaged. I will take a minute tonight and have a moment of silence in memory of P1M's Black Watch. We will all remember it with great fondness.

A moment of silence for the kilt…

Now, P1M, get creative with the remains: a mini for Emma? A couple of tartan collars for the dogs? Bottle kilties? Flashes? I'll bet you can recycle this into several items!
