Does it seem right to wear the kilt 24 hours a day?
I'm curious as to the outlook of someone sho has only used the kilt for formal ocassions.
I can't personally feature wearing a kilt all the time. But then again I wasn't brought up in a "kilted" atmosphere being german and all. I like wearing the kilt and I am not intimidated by being looked at in public. I am a very large man(6' 4" and 280lbs), and I have my wife on my arm most times, so there is little sniggering etc.
I do save the kilt for special occasions. However, I am a minister (permanent deacon) and I have a set of vestiments with the clergy tartan as "decoration"
In fact, in the fall I will be witnessing a wedding, with the kilt on underneath my vestments (alb, dalmatic and stole - with clergy tartan) I will probably wear the band tartan, it is Modern Wilson and is a bit brighter than the somber tartan I wear as my own...Ross Weathered Hunting. I will bring the pipes to the reception (the groom is one of my piping students) and join in playing with the piper he has hired for the occassion. This is the request of the bride and groom.
However, I agree that if it is your choice to go about kilted in all circumstances, then, God Bless you and enjoy.
