Novelty Item
At the Cambridge Highland games, a few diehards were shocked....some of us just laughed...others shook their heads.
I was one who laughed....then shook my head.... your reactions maybe otherwise. A Scotsman set up a booth near me and was selling "Instakilt" (He has a website under construction)....It's a beach towel made to look like a kilt complete with belt and horsehair sporran....So now you can look kilted at the beach or coming from your shower. designed to get wet.
He was selling....I doubt the folks will be xmarkers but hey ya gotta start somewhere.....
I thought this best be posted off topic as it isn't a kilt but rather a towel sorry can't name the tartan.
Probably best worn by the privacy of your backyard pool.

wow...that is almost scary..
then again, if it keeps a kiltmaker in business, and spreads the word about kilts to the masses, then I guess it can't be a bad thing. I would laugh a bit, though, right before I bought one to scare the bejesus out of my wife with!

Is the belt and sporran Printed onto the towel or are they seperate accessories?
It is a novelty. Let's see how long it takes for someone to actually try and pass this off as a kilt. We have Clan MacTable, how 'bout Clan MacTowel
I wonder if he carry's the huge t-shirts that have hot body's airbrushed onto them as well?

Just found his website in progress.
The tartan looks familiar, but I'm drawing a blank. Any ideas?

I give it a year, and someone will be creating a post that the instakilt is just as good as a traditional Scottish kilt but you can buy 25-30 for the cost of a Scottish Kilt. Sad really.
I may have to get one of these for walking to and from the pool

Hey, thanks for sharing that deal Robert,
My first "kilt" was a wrap around terry thingie for after shower....guys gotta start somewhere.
And, if a guy's gotta have a beach towel anyway....why not?
