Very snappy. I may be speaking out of turn here but I know for formal kilt outfits with waistcoats, a belt is not worn. I would think the same would apply to trews. I recommend a pair of braces and forgo the belt. You will get a better sense of the high rise that distinguishes the cut of the trews.

I'd tend to agree, with a Prince Charlie I would never wear the belt. I've seen trews both ways either braces or belt. Quite often for day wear I've seen the belt. This however is my go everywhere, do everything vest/jacket combo. Trews have brace buttons already sewn so I'm ready to go that way too. This is an informal waist coat out of brown leather. I think the first time I saw this look was in Darby O'Gill and the little people with Sean Connery (one of my childhood favorites) I'll have to watch it and see if he was wearing a belt. How about that taking my style cues from Disney. O'Neille

These are not completely lined only partially to the hips. I wouldn't have been comfortable wearing them and doing anything but they weren't obnoxiously hot. This is a day when I would have never put on my Levi's sauna jeans. These are surplus but look like they were just made. I got lucky, sometimes it's good to know your exact kilt measurements plus trouser length. O'Neille
