Very smart indeed. I think the "lighter jacket/darker kilt" works quite well for someone of your stature.
I have a similar Harris Tweed kilt jacket, perhaps even a little lighter toned - and in combination with my dark coloured kilt I feel it shortens me visually (I'm 5'6").
It needs a nice muted or ancient kilt to go with it !
Tweed jackets are immensely practical for everyday wear.
