not sure about the garb, but it looks like either a re-enactor, or someone who fought in WWII as a youth and took a pic recently.
eitherway, I wouldn't mess with a man in a kilt going to war!

I agree. He looks like he is just about ready to get real busy on his foe! He has a great looking kilt on! I like the pattern very much!  Looks like all he needs to hear are some pipes, or the song, Sergeant Mackenzie, and it's on!
Also, that guy has massive calves! How does he keep his hose in good condition without wearing out the elastic?! LOL!

The kilt is the Seaforth Highlanders but I do not know about the rest of the outfit.
A kilted Celt on the border.

Seaforth...Aren't they the ones that Sergeant MacKenzie was tied to? I think there is something about him and the Seaforths on the Clann An Drumma web site.

Yes! Here it is! Seaforth/Sgt MacKenzie Sergeant Charles MacKenzie was in the Seaforth Highlanders.

To my knowledge, few kilts were worn in combat during the Second World War, save by pipers and of course, the Camerons, who reportedly last wore the kilt in combat during the days of Dunkirk and the evacuation of British Forces from the continent in 1940.
Some of his "kit" looks good; but others, like the hose and the belt, do not. The main page that zardoz recommended has some good photos of Scottish soldiers, their uniforms and equipment:

Most likely it's a gentleman who wanted to "recreate" the look of a Scottish soldier.
