I only have three contemporary kilts. No tartans of any sort.
To my knowledge there is no Steeves tartan. Steeves is a german name...was Steiff I think. I can't find either version in any tartan directories online. I'll have to enlist Matt services and create one I think.

I've looked into getting an Antrim tartan (from my Moms side), but the price . The only other one I've even thought of getting is a Macpherson tartan (they are the cousins to the Parsons), but I really like the solid and camo kilts the most.

I don't have a tartan for my surname yet. There is no specific Dove tartan. I could get Duff (McDuff) as the names both derived from similar sources.
I do have kilts for the other family lines. McKean (MacIan) for my father's mother, from whom I get most of my Scottish blood; Edwards for my mother's father; and German National for my mother's mother.
I do have a kilt in the tartan of the only clan to which I have ever sworn allegiance: the US Army.

Family tartan, yes. Neutral, sure.
2 Stillwaters in Gordon Modern
1 kiltmart in "Pride of Scotland" nice pattern, but not my favorite...and not clan, or family related.
1 Gordon Red Weathered/Muted belted plaid on the way (backordered )
1 Muir Modern belted plaid on the way
1 Gordon Red Muted Neokilt in the works
Thinking of getting stuff done in the Greenock tartan, the Ayrshire tartan, the Argyll tartan, the Aberdeen tartan, the WA state tartan, the US tartan...the new Gordon Blue, Gordon Old Colours...Ha ha ha ha...this list could go on for a while, though I would like to try and start with the Greenock, if I can find it. Sooo many possibilities. About as fun as collecting swords, or books, or motorbikes, video games...and every other addicting thing I have ever done...except none of the other things are functional clothing.

I am one month shy of permanent custody of my Gordon Modern 8-yard.

Is your mother from VA? My Gordon connection is through the Willis/Gordon/Garnett Allied Families of Virginia. I currently belong to the HOG-GA.

I have one Irish American tartan (as I'm an Irish American) and a Clark Ancient that my wife (a Clark) gave me. She calls it her version of branding me. So I'm not necessarily wearing "MY" tartan in this case, but still it's a family one.
