The logo on the back of the Utilikilts is three "F"s for "Form Follows Function". That means the kilt looks the way it does because it's meant to function a certain way -- for the person wearing it.

Since I actually work in my kilts (light construction projects, photography, teaching CPR), having them longer than traditional length gives me more freedom of movement with less risk of exposure.

Also, since I have short, thick legs, the longer kilt makes my legs look longer. A standard length looks like I'm trying to wear a mini-skirt.

Get the length that's best for what you're wearing the kilt for, and what looks good to you.
