You mentioned their kilts are from Lochcarron, if this is the case, their normal delivery time is 8 to 12 weeks.

Yes, that's right. When I ordered my kilt Ralph said it would take 12 weeks. The 12 weeks took us to 1 week before Christmas. So it was touch and go. As it happens, it took another 3 weeks because of the long Christmas break in Scotland.

My experience with them mirrors what others have said.

I placed an order with them at the Richmond, VA games in October. Was told it would be 16 weeks. After 18 weeks I started emailing and calling.
Finally got the kilt in July.

It is a decent kilt, in my clan tartan, but the hassle was not worth a repeat order to them.

There are too many other hard working, service oriented kilt makers out there to waste time on this outfit.

The trouble was, 1, I wanted to have someone measure me for the kilt to get it right (the kilt I received does fit well), and 2, I didn't know about this site and the good advice available here.

I have 4 other kilts now and none took that long.

Well we only ordered them from there cause they were at the games and our dumb ~insert fav word here~ didn't have the foresight to check them out. I regret it now. The wedding is in october and I've talked to them a couple of times now. The 8-12 week has been over and working on week 16. If I ever get this thing they will get a nice email, phone call, or maybe both telling them I will never be getting anything from them again.

Ralph was in Denver this past weekend for the Highlands Ranch games, saw him in the booth. When I was having my problems with them he told me that since he traveled a lot from spring to fall it was hard to stay on top of everything. Therefore.....you need to keep calling and/or emailing to light a fire under his ___ That and "wonder what BBB would say" should help.

Ralph has had several complaints filed against him, including from me. His reaction to my complaint was an email, accusing me of being unreasonable. I didn't feel that filing a complaint after 6 months when delivery had been promised in 12 to 16 weeks ,and he refused to answer emails or phone calls was being unreasonable. Oh yes, did he try "the sick mother in Scotland" explanation? He used that with me,and I heard later, several others.

Jerry, that was about 2 years ago for me. Don't remember all the excusses. Then, when I saw him at the Estes Park games after he promised that the kilt would be there the Thursday before and hadn't arrived before we left at 6:00 pm on Friday, he called his shipper/supplier or whoever and told me it had been delivered at 5:00pm.

Lochcarron are a fine kiltmaker and one of the suppliers that we use. Their normal delivery time are a s quoted above but can be shortened.

I am sorry that you are having trouble with a kilt supplier. We are always genuine about the time it will take and when you will get it. Sometimes they are delays due to the cloth not being in stock. We ALWAYS communicate this to our customers if not in stock.

I am not going to slag off a competitor as I don't know them personally anyway but customer service is PARAMOUNT especially when the customer is spending hundreds of pounds. Our motto is that even if you don't become a customer and you become a friend that is good enough for us.
