    Canadian PM in a kilt.

No, not that Prime Minister....our 13th one, John G. Diefenbaker.

Anyone else able to find any world leaders (past and present) in a kilt?

*let's leave the political opinions out of this one alright

...I doubt that we'd have much difficulty talking Bill Clinton into wearing one.

(Apparently Slick Willie and I are very distant cousins and that IS on the Scots side of the family.)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Diefenbaker the name of the dog in the TV show Due South?? (no intended slam against the Prime Minister)

    It's an Argyll. Pretty common.

Yes, many of the character names on Due South were former Canadian Prime Ministers.

    Interesting!

I've notice that many shows name characters after the film crew.. Just watch the credits.. Many are real close!!

Paul Gross (the mountie and producer) in Due South is apparently a huge fan of Diefs. When CBC did the greatest Canadian last year, Gross was the one to do the bio on Diefenbaker.

I'm pretty sure he did Lester B. Pearson.

The old Lou Grant TV show had an episode about a comic strip that was very much like Doonesbury. The real Doonesbury strip is authored by a fellow named Trudeau (same as a former PM). The fictional strip was authored by a fellow named Diefenbaker. I thought it was a pretty sly joke.
