Very colourful, I think your designs are good & will appeal to the younger set, I could not see me wearing one, as I am more of a traditional type, you are very tallented. welcome from Carlisle England

I like them, and they are giving me some ideas for future kilts. I'm still split on whether I like box or knife pleats better (and which I want on my kilt) but the two tone is making me thing that box looks pretty sweet. Can't wait to see what else you come up with.

Best of luck to you. Will you be taking your kilts with you?
Thank you for the kind words. I am not sure how Jeff did his two tones. I used his insructions for my single color kilts and then just thought about it for awhile and figured a good way to make my two tones. I will be doing a time trial today to see how long it takes me to do a single color kilt in five color desert. I found a great deal on twelve yards of it last night so it is going to be interesting to see how it comes out. I will be taking this one with me since I think I might be able to get away with wearing it in my off hours on the FOB once I get there. The others will be staying put until my return. I will post some pics with a time estimate later today. Thank you again for the kind words.

Ok kilts done. Will post pics later. With all sewn in pleats. My usual under apron two pocket combination. A waist band with belt loops and looking good if I do say so my self.
The time is....... 6 hours and 6 minutes. That time could have been almost an hour shorter but I wanted to try something with the waist band. It did end up working but I will not be doing it again.
I will post pics later tonight. I really think I can do these in about four to four and a half hours a piece for single color. Two tones are still very time consuming even with some of the tricks I have figured out. Well its time to figure out if that time is repeatable or improvable for the next one.

I have NO idea how you guys are cranking these things out so fast.
Seeing what you've done has got me thinking, though....and that's dangerous! LOL. Ok, OK, AFTER I do my two traditionals, coming up, THEN I can try something wild like this.
Great stuff, mate.

OK here are the pictures as promised. Please let me know what you all think. Don't hold anything back. What you point out wrong or disliked is how I improve them. Oh I forgot to mention before that the hems are triple rolled and double stitched as well as the outside sems.
This is a few minutes into the pleating process.

Here is my GI style fix due to my error causing a nice sized rip. This is how I fix holes in my uniforms.

Here is the pleating almost done being sewn.

and a close up.

Here is the pleating all sewn in.

Heck I'm not an expert, but that looks extremely good. Looks like the 'jagged' edges might soften down after a couple of washes. Pretty impressive work - like many others, I stop at buttons and the like.
This must also be the ONLY kilt to wear with desert boots
All the best

Great looking kilt Sunflash. I made a desert digital camo in the spring. The only thing I might fix on this latest one is the bottom edge of the under-apron. It appears to be hanging below the front apron. I would just fold it up and stitch it or just cut it off and clean it up.
Great job.
