That really looks one superb kilt, Hamish. And it goes well with both of the shirts and also the boots/scrunched down hose or dress shoes and grey hose.

Hamish, that is one wonderful kilt. Please don´t be timid about getting new kilts, I love to hear about them. I am sure a lot of us have the ´dream list of kilts´ you are just lucky enough to have the kilts instead of a list. This one will certainly be added to my list.

I know you will wear it well and enjoy it each time you are out.

I do have one question though, with 66 kilts (more than one for every day in two months do you have them numbered so you can cycle through and wear each one once before you repeat. I thought that is what I would do when I get to seven, but I have noticed even though I am at 6 I wear three (my usa casuals) a lot more than they others now because they aren´t as warm as my two Stillwaters. Just curious how you do it.

I'm sorry Robin. The pleats view will have to wait until the weekend - it is on the 'to do' list - but 'Tripod' has rushed off in a huff, muttering something incomprehensible under his breath. It's my belief he's been 'at the bottle' - but you didn't hear that from me.

Many thanks Keith. I am often asked things like "Do you wear all your kilts in rotation, or do you have certain favourites which get more wear than the others?" Well, to tell the truth, I suppose I do have favourites. Also I have to admit that possibly ten of the older kilts in the Kollection have mysteriously 'shrunk' just hanging in their plastic covers, and I can no longer do them up! Strange that! Others are less appropriate for everyday wear and so they come out of the closet (if you'll pardon the expression) less frequently. Some are so darned comfortable that I cannot resist them and, at the end of a day's wearing, I really do not want to take them off. As for the rest, well, I select them for wear according to my activities, my moods and perhaps most importantly, their significance at a given anniversary or event.

I have not numbered the kilts, but each one carries the date on which it came into my possession. I do have a Kilt Inventory which indicates every kilt's description (colour/tartan, fabric, weight, yardage, etc), the kiltmaker and the date of acquisition. Additionally, each kilt has its own photo album - on its own dedicated CD! Every time I have a photo, or series of photos of a particular kilt, those images are burned on to the appropriate CD.

I know I should get a life and/or get out more but I enjoy doing this and besides, when the Kollection goes public (after my demise) there will be a reliable record of each kilt's provenance.

Believe you are right, KT. I just don't think this one could be worn formally - well, not 'British formally' anyway! I will try it with both my charcoal tweed and brown tweed Argylls, but I think that will be stretching things a bit too far! Watch this space (or one nearby!).
