    I could use some advice

Well, it would seem as if I find myself engaged to be married (those of you that have met Damaris, you know that I'm "marring up"....and those of you that have met me are wondering, "What's she thinking?")! The wedding will be in late July of '07 and we plan on honeymooning in Scotland. Neither of us have been there (Scotland that is...we've both been married before...and yet strangely enough we find ourself doing it again...ah, where was I?) and we would greatly appreciate any advice on tours, must sees, and anything else you might suggest. We plan on staying about 10 - 14 days and hopefully meeting up with a few X-marks folks along the way. Thanks for the help.

    -Tim

Excellent advice to be had here. The website David cites is very good. Also you must spend some time with P1M and Emma at Ferintosh in Dumfries. Their website www.ferintosh.net also has some great tourism links.

    Congrats.

Mazel Tov on your engagement! Scotland is relatively compact as compared to California, so you can see a lot of it in 10-14 days. Edinburgh deserves at least two or three nights, and I would stay in Glasgow as well for the excellent museums and vibrant scene. Plan to go at least as far north as Inverness, and to ferry out to an island for a night or two. Maybe Skye? Stirling Castle is an interesting place to visit too. A lot depends on what you like, history, nature, ruins, culture, Scotland's got it all. Geez maybe I should work for the tourist bureau.

    Best regards,

    Jake

Do a search of this site as well. We have had quite a few members ask for similar advise. The membership has come up with some great suggestions.

    Congrats by the way

Congratulations on the engagement. In my experience second time is much better than the first!
