I fervently agree. When XMTS was down Monday I lurked over there. While there are a lot of enthusiastic members, there was a tone of confrontation between a number of posters that put me off. I participate here to learn as much as I can, share what little I know, and conjecture freely (identified as such). While some of the Bravehearts characterize XMTS as conservative and trad-kilt-oriented, my experience is that it is a wide open and accepting forum for people interested in all aspects of kilted life. (stepping down now from soap box).

We have a group of members here that understand respect. I say, "Rules are made to be obeyed. AND When appropriate, Tested."
In this forum, it is better to read, become informed, post relevant to threads and if a test seems needed, I'll READ FIRST the FAQ's and Rules. Then I can try a PM to an Admin or Mod. They'll give me a straight forward reponse and I'll then know if I'm still in bounds or headed for the penalty box. And we'll still be friends. Then I can search the old threads for information relevant to my quetion. It aint always necessary to resurrect an oldie. But, sometimes it's fun to freshen up a good topic in a cooled off thread.
oops... I found myself up on your soapbox! Kinda slippery. Think I'll stay off it now!
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?
