Well, as most of you well realize.
My ears. And the tattoos, especially the neck and hand stuff.
Funny thing about the tattoos. On my left arm, there's a wee grey kitty cat with his bum facing out and tail pointing straight up. A bright red little... errr... "starfish" is visible. Out of all my tattoos, people somehow ALWAYS notice him.

My beard. Its a nice rich red, while my hair is dark brown almost black. That always gets a comment.

My stretched earlobes, lip piercing, and long hair, and depending on the job I'm about the only one that skateboards on my lunch break.

My hair and my beard; I've been called "wild man" more than once.
Nick, that deformation isn't a bad thing; it's what give the hat "character" and makes it uniquely yours.

I can't believe I forgot...most people who have known me for long associate me first with all things Star Wars. My parents raised me on the original trilogy...and now my collection is immense, filling a whole room in my house with the 1995 to present stuff. All the vintage stuff is at my parent's house. I could prolly get quite a few kilts were I to sell it all, but that won't happen.
anyway, I've been the star wars guy for about 30 years now...way before the kilt.

But I have to agree, a topper would look a bit odd with a kilt.
I know there are variations in brim width and of course hat band but do the variants have different names? My favorite is a battered brown one with a slim leather band. Halfway between something what Indiana Jones and Phillip Marlowe would wear. I am also very fond of my black felt, with wide black ribbon hat (very Dick Tracy like).
