Everyone here has pretty much already said what I would have said, but I'm going to add one more thing into the mix.

I've long said, though I'm not sure I've said it here, that everyone loves a rebel/innovator... UNTIL they have to deal with them face to face. I happen to like being the one who makes them deal with it face to face.

Kilts are for men to wear. Today one has to be brave to wear one. Women, who know, know a man in a kilt is a person who's so comfortable with being a man (and all the good things that's about) that they can feel comfortable being women. My wife tells me that's a great gift to give women and one only men can give.
I'm delighted there are others who are willing to give that gift too.

If they don't catch on, then maybe not every man is comfortable with being a truly good male human being.

I really don't give a rat's if they don't catch on...I'm having a great time...I feel really great wearing one and I have the pleasure of yakking with all of you about the ins and outs of wearing them...if some people don't "catch on" that's their misfortune. And I'll tell you...my wife seems to still be rather ambivalent about the whole thing but what am I going to do? Eh!

I absolutely don't care if kilts catch on or not. I'm comfortable wearing them and that's all that matters. I don't have a cell phone either and don't plan on getting one. In fact, I'm working on getting an ordinance passed to ban talking on one while driving.

As for myself, I enjoy standing out a bit more than the average Joe. My friends know that if I'm kilted that we are going to have a blast when we go out, not to metion that my girl loves the kilted sway...

I don't think kilts will ever become mainstream and I don't really think I want them to. Awareness of them, sure. I wouldn't want them to become common place well... and this may seem a bit foolish, because then they wouldn't be special; they'd be like pants are now. And if they weren't special we probably wouldn't get all those nice comments from the fairer sex that we all love. Admit it guys, we love getting those comments.

    Agreed.

I'd rather stand out in a crowd.

**raising my hand** I admit it. I like young attractive ladies' comments about my kilt ( and whatever else they happen to comment on!)

I don't care what the rest of the world wears as long as I can wear whatever clothing I choose, and all I ask is a smile. No comments necessary. Although I don't mind them from the ladies. O'Neille

When you go into a shop & a young lady says "you have made my day seeing a man in a kilt"---WHO WANTS TO BE MAINSTREAM???
