Sadly I am stuck for the most part with mass produced since I live in the hinterlands and would need to travel quite far to get a wiff of Creed or Floris.

I keep seeing in this thread about the too much concern, yet I have very rarely run into the problem. I have on the other hand run into the B.O. problem with much higher regularity. It seems to me based on my experiences that people are worried about the wrong things.

Exactly, after I started wearing fragrance I just felt naked without it. Yet wearing it feels more than just clothed, I feel well prepared to meet the world head on.

I like a good after shave or eau de toilette...not much, not "heavy".
I now have Allure from Chanel.
Not because I smell bad (I hope ), but because I like it

Most Americans have the belief that if a little is good alot is better. I have no problem with just a tiny bit of perfume and such, but far too many baste themselves in the stuff. I'd rather see it banned in public places than deal with that.

Hey...because YOU like it...the correct reason to use any scent (in moderation, of course...in keeping with the theme of this thread).
I love the guys that buy into that horse---- that some kind of cologne or whatever is gonna drive the wimmens wild and make them instantly irresistable...dream on.
My seventeen year old son's girlfriend presented him with a bottle of English Leather (you remember that, right?...all my men wear English Leather or they wear nothing at all...nudge, nudge, wink, wink...) and he has shown uncharacteristically good sense in not using it, girlfriend not withstanding. Attaboy.

Actually, another really good reason is that the lady in your life likes it , unless of course you don't. I don't use any colognes or such very often, but if a special lady gave me some, I would definitely wear it when I went out with her. It's just good manners to use the gift someone gave you. But, as always, use it sparingly.

As I am allergic to most scents I do not wear any but as long as others don't wear too much I'm fine with it. My problem is that I have allergy triggered asthma. I made the mistake of walking through the fragrance department a Lord & Taylor during the holiday shopping (Ugh!) season. Some overly zealous sales person spritzed some something in my face to show me how wonderful it was and that I should instantly buy it - instead it triggered an asthma "event". Not really too big a deal to me but it scared the you know what out of her. I darsay she was a bit more reserved with her spritzes after that.

Silage! That's IT, the middle note I couldn't figure out! YES, if you want to smell like fodder for livestock, this is the scent for you! Very manly, you are right!
Sorry. Couldn't resist. I don't really mean it...exactly so.

Well done! Livestock indeed, that would have been great had I intended it.
