I showed up at the company holiday party in my kilt. I thought it would be a big deal until another co worker showed up in a kilt, too. But the company pres said if I would wear it nest year, so would he. So, I guess it was accepted. Every now and then, some one will make a remark about me being kilted. All are positive. It's not a big deal to me who knows and who doesn't. It's how i feel wearing it. And that's a good thing.

Most of my coworkers (the few I converse with) know that I wear kilts. My three lab techs know I wear a kilt. They think it's cool and that I've got a big set for doing so. It's really not a big deal to me. The first couple of times out was weird. But, then change always is.
A couple of weeks ago our supply clerk saw me in Wally World. I stopped and talked to him. His eyes kept darting from me to my kilt and back again. But, he never said a WORD. I guess he didn't know I wore a kilt regularly. I would love to wear my kilts to work, but due to OSHA stuff I can't. Oh well, I'd hate to get something on them here anyway...

Several of my co-workers came to my wedding, so they saw me kilted there. The rest saw it when I wore one to the office on St. Patrick's Day.

I guess I never really realised that wearing kilts could be such a big thing. I think my co-workers are getting sick to death of kilt talk and updates on the "great accessory hunt"!

Thinking back, I didn't tell anyone I wear kilts. I just showed up at work. Not much of a big deal really (more in my mind than anyone else's).
I think I am a little worried about the idea of secrecy. Wearing the kilt is not a double life. Nothing to be ashamed of. Be bold! Kilting requires it!

Well....I told one of my co-workers and he thought it was totally cool!
As a matter of fact, he said he has seen a couple of guys around town wearing them, one in the grocery store.
Now....WHY DON'T I EVER SEE ANYONE WEARING THEM???

I didn't think it was a big deal for me to tell my co-workers that I wear the kilt. I have worn my kilts in front of them and none of them said anything bad about it. Also, what I wear in my private time, it is my business. Why would they care?

Not to worry Phil,
Arizona is one of the United States...freedoms are pretty common...and Phoenix is a wild crazy town - or was during the thirty very odd years I lived there. I've been visiting Phoenix kilted for over two years...nary a hassle.
Up here in Page (population 7,800) I started wearing my first kilt, a UK camo, around town right off. Ran into my CEO at the hardware store and he freaked...with laughter...and curiosity...probably better there than at work. But wasn't long before I was showing up at company afterhours functions kilted, then to work kilted, now kilted daily for over a year.
I finally figured out that it was me that had to get used to being out and about kilted...other folks don't much care...just a surprise treat for them.
Kilt up and enjoy.
