Hey everybody,

Sorry I've been away for a day. Thanks so much for the welcome and the encouragement! And sorry about the questions about "MK" - it is a Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilt (although there is some debate I've seen about it actually being a kilt since it doesn't have any pleats). Here's a picture of me looking defiant in the MK:

I'll hopefully be hitting a San Gabriel mountain trail in a couple of days, and I'll let y'all know how things go with the new hiking gear.

Ah, Pasadena. My best friend lives in Glendale, not too far. I've gotten him in a kilt at least part time now as well.
