I bought a cheap Ebay kilt from them. I'm happy enough with it, considering what I paid.

I bought my first kilt from them. It's a five yarder... not too bad I suppose for the cost. I've read some bad reviews here on them though.

Unless you are against polyviscose, for the same money you could get a semi-trad from USA kilts. Hamish got one and raved about the fit, quality, and feel of the cloth. I believe he said his actually came to 6 yards. That may be my next kilt.

'John Morrison' used to be a reliable kilt maker in Edinburgh BUT, his business was sold a few years ago to the notorious Gold Brothers who have five (I think) tourist-trap type shops on or close to Edinburgh's Royal Mile - 'Heritage of Scotland' being one of them! I have visited these shops more than once and, as I have stated several times here and elsewhere, I would never buy from them!

I'm sorry Hamish, but you are painting with an terribly wide brush. The store fronts sell somthing at every price point. Obviously there is a lot of tourist clap included, but look where they are located. The JM Kilt is very nice, especially considering the price. The kilt making is sourced out to some very good makers. They do a huge volume and get good prices from the mills and their craftsmen. Mine is a Locharran.

Id like to get one of Rockys semi-traditional kilts. However the selection of tartans in the polyviscros is very very limited. It happens that Herritage of Scotland has a wide varity of tartans to choose from. I was intrested in a 10 oz Drummond of Stratham Ancient. When it comes down to it, Im not going to buy a kilt thats not good quality though. So I guess I'll pass on this one. Thanks guys

I ordered my first wool kilt (5 yrd) from them... the quality seems to be very good, the pleating seems to be ok, but I'm concerned about the sizing. I ordered a 44" kilt, but the one that I got is what I would think would be a 46" kilt - it's looser than 44" tape measurement on the tightest setting in the leather straps
I would assume that whatever the requested size would be would be in the middle hole of the straps - but maybe that's just from hanging around a friend of mine who is one of the best custom leather makers in the US.

Has anyone had to deal with returns to these people? I know through the order process, they were pleasant, etc.
