there's a place in Downtown Cincinnati that serves Veggetarian Haggis. Those two words just don't sound right together.

me, i've never tried it in any sense. i may one day do so.

Where? I'm assuming Nicholson's, but I've never seen it on their menu.

Since this thread has got itself revived, you can put me down as a haggis lover too.

It was my staple dish throughout my student days, mainly because it was about the cheapest option on the Glasgow Union menu but also because it made a change from mince and tatties.

This year I had the temerity to serve haggis (MacSween's best) to some French people in France - having addressed it in Robert Burns' immortal words and inflicted the fatal stab with a Sgian Dubh. I have to say they thought it was fantastic and that must surely count for something given their high standards.

I have also tried vegetarian haggis (MacSween's again) and thought it was OK. Not spectacular, but OK. I'll stick to the carnivore version.

Put me down as a lover o' the haggis beastie. When I was home last Christmas (first time in two and a half years) my Mum cooked it for me. Gotta love your Mum.

I'd love to be able to introduce my friends out here to it. I may have to hide a few cans of the tinned stuff in my suitcase when I am home this year!! Haggis is actually even mentioned once or twice in my company's English textbook, an example of weird foreign food I think!

And P1M, that breeakfast looks stunning! Almost an excuse to come stay on it's own!

The staple breakfast out here is (boiled) rice and miso soup. Bland and boring.

there's a place here in Charlottetown that deep fries Mars bars. It sounds awesome but sheesh....as if the candy bar wasn't bad enough for your health already, they had to dip it in batter and deep fry the thing. I think I can feel my arteries hardening as we speak.
