This is what struck me as really odd. I serve on my city's sustainability committee and my professional life is awfully focused on waste issues. I think about solid waste a lot more than the average bird, I would guess. Cheap, disposable clothes (like these *&%! jeans I'm wearing right now that barely lasted two years) are much more of an annoyance. A well crafted kilt would last several lifetimes. It seems to me the kind of craftmanship illustrated by kiltmakers should be used as a terrific example of building for a lifetime, and not the moment.
