    I always wear mine tucked in. I think it looks wrong to be out, but I would agree with Robin that a sweater looks better out, but with the waist at the top of the kilt and bloused out.

    I know what you mean, before I started wearing a kilt I hardly ever tucked my shirt in. Here in the desert, loose fitting clothing (like an untucked shirt) isn't just a matter of comfort or fashion, it helps keep you cooler. So, the first time I wore a kilt, I wore my shirt out & that was the last time I wore my shirt untucked with a kilt - I thought it looks too much like a dress with the shirt-tail hanging out.

    As for a sweater, I'll have to take Robin's word on that. I can't remember the last time it got cold enough in Phoenix to need a sweater.
