Virginia Highland Games

It's now official. I'll be there. The Kilt Gods were very kind and sent me an unexpected windfall. (a refund friom the escrow account on my house) I'll be coming up on Friday night, staying in a local motel and attending the games on Saturtday, then driving back home after the games. I'd be up for some kind of get together Friday evening.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but the Virginia Highland Games in Alexandria are September 16th at Ft. Ward Park in Alexandria.

Talked to Randy a little while ago and they are planning to arrive around noon-thirtyish. Most likely so are we. Parking is hideous so we're takeing the metro and then shuttle from the station.

Don't know this venue so I have no idea where anyone can meet. Randy and JerMc and I all have each other's cell numbers but who else is going to be there? Glassman? Kilted Taper? If you want my cell number PM me and maybe we can meet up. I do plan to watch the pipe band competitions at 3:00PM and at some point will be getting measured by Geoffrey (Tailor)

Weare leaving home at 6am, so we plan on arriving,after stopping for a kilted breakfast somewhere aroundd Fredricksburg, so we will be arriving at around 9am or so. I have handicap parking access for my wife and myself (arthritus), but after looking at the parking situation, I don'tknow if it will do any good. I did send an email enquiry, but if they are like the people I have been trying to contact about my computer problems there isn't a snowball's chance in Hades of getting an answer back.

I'm still up in the air if I'm going or not. If I do it will be early, as my wife needs to be in Philly before 5:00PM to register for a half marathon she's doing on Sunday.
