Actually I tried to use the slash pockets, but the front snaps started coming undone with much movement. That particular kilt is a bit snug on me, so that may contribute to my difficulty. I also dont think the snaps would have held any more weight on the side pockets. Anyhow, when I finish my next weight loss regime, I will re-attempt the experiment.

I believe you can maximize the number by using standard, 12 oz. size bottles - i.e. longnecks - they are skinnier than some of those you tried - esp. those ciders....

I'm tempted to just come on down and help you with this noble experiment. I bought a case and tried it with my trad and I just wound up drunk.

David and Tim, next time you are in the south, just look me up and we can give this glorious experiment the honor it deserves!

No kidding, I have used that kilt for precisely that purpose myself sometimes.

Last spring (05) I was working the UK booth at a Renfair, and camping over on the grounds with the rennies. It was colder than hell that night, so I had no fear of the drinks getting warm, though I wanted to get myself to where there was a warm fire and a warm female body, without the hassle of my cooler.

I simply loaded up the Survival side pockets with about 10 drinks, headed on over to the campfire, and proceeded to drink. At one point a folding camp chair became available, though with my bulging pockets I could not fit in it.

No problems of course, as I simply unsnapped the pockets, laid them in front of me, and sat down as normal.

It is a TRULY useful garment.

Oh, don't worry - you can always settle for a re-fill/re-stock

You can all fit at least three more bottles in there if you drink them first.

I'm guessing he'll be the most popular man at the party.
