I agree with the others. Wear your kilt with pride!
Throw on some socks (scrunch them down) and some heavy boots and it will and visual weight down below. A nice polo or button down shirt (match the color to your socks) and you'll be good to go.

Well...what everyone else said. Steam (or hang) out the wrinkles, add some hose and boots and you're good to go.

It's nonsense that a specific body type can't wear the kilt. Kilts fit bodies better than trousers do. The key is to put it on, look in the mirror and like what you see.

    Wear it with confidence!

I certainly agree with the rest of the group. I especially think the addition of a collared shirt (polo) would be one of the best things you could do. Brutally honest, that's the only thing I see wrong. You just look to "bottom heavy" because of the Tshirt. Kilt on!

Wear the kilt, man! Built doesn't matter, I'm build like a broomhandle (6'2 145lbs); got the chicken legs and all, and I don't hesitate to wear my kilt. I agree that if you get yourself some accessories that you'll change your own mind. Some hose, a sporran, and I think a black Jacobite shirt would be great.

    edit: Darned spelling mistakes.

The kilt looks fine. Add the rest of the accessories and you'll be styling!

Let's see. 18 replies, including mine. And a grand total of 0, zero, nada, none saying don't wear your kilt. Looks like you're out numbered and will have to wear it.

Do take the advise above, don't let others tell you not to wear your kilt. It does take some time to get used to but you will. Be comfortable and wear your kilt.

If you got a thicker belt and a better shirt (aka, not a t-shirt) you'd look great!

Let's face it, Scots are pretty stout people. Myself included, we're a pretty stocky breed.
