The same seller is also selling another two meters of the same fabric on a Buy-It-Now offering. Score both offerings, and multiple joins in the pleats are no problem for the intrepid kiltmaker.

Another way is to email him and he may consent to put up a four-yard (double width) offering for you.

    Good luck.

Also, is that really a Cavan tartan. I searched and I'm finding several, but not one that looks like that.
you know, the seller may be auctioning it by 2-meter lengths, but if it's on a bolt and you win it you might contact the seller and ask if you can buy the length you want for the same per-meter price.

Took everyone's advice and contacted the seller. He can indeed do any length you want. He quoted me £60 for 4meters double width. Said that included shipping, but I'm not sure he was aware I'm across the pond. Still not a bad price.

Thanks for the link. He has some good looking fabric for good prices. I am going to see about getting some myself.

£60 shipped is what it cost for 4 meters. Around $115US, so all told, around $29US a meter. Not too shabby. If you see something of interest in his listings, he should be able to get you what you want in whatever your length.

Haven't even finished my first kilt yet, and I already have 2 tartans laying and waiting!

I have to say that my X-Kilt instructions won't work very well for someone who wants to make a 4-yard tartan kilt.

HOWEVER, if you spent $60-$120 on the woolfabric, maybe it would be good to practice once on cheap material before you dive into the nice wool stuff. The X-Kilt is a great practice kilt, and it'll give you the idea of how to make a box pleat kilt.

Make an X-Kilt, then get Barb's book and read it thoroughly. Between the two, you could likely pull off a very nice box-pleat kilt..
