First I counted how many total kilts in the closet - now I count how many PV's... how many wool... as in Gee Honey, I only have four (wool) kilts... I'd better think about ordering another.

I'd be happy with one or two nice kilts. Now that I've gone beyond that I'm enjoying the hunt more than the kill. O'Neille
Added: Now that I think of it, you need another. You've got enough for every day except Sunday.

That's about how I feel too. When I first started, I wanted to buy one from every vendor and kiltmaker. Now I have 2 casuals and one traditional. I am ok for the time being.

my name is gil, i haven't bought a kilt in 3 months..
there should be a kilts anonamous..anonymous, anonemou..
oh heck, buy another!
what the ideal number should be..
a plain canvas for everyday,
one wooly for dress,
one phillibeg/casual tartan for weekends..
a skinny kilt
a fat kilt..( your woman will understand this)
when one gets worn , a new one..
a bar crawler kilt...
one irish.. for st pats..
one military camo.. for hunting..(squirrels, rabbits, rhino, whatever..)
one winter,
one jogging,
one to give to a friend or brother..
one your wife will take..
one for work..
i forget the rest..

I think it depends much on how often you wear the kilt.
As a full time kiltwearer, I like a choice in kilts for work, play, chu**h, hiking, then - summer/winter, windy conditions and so on.
The more you have, the more choice you have.
This must be balanced against income, other financial commitments, and the fact that a mans' life is more than what he wears or what he eats.
I have about 17 with 2 more to come. That may be it for me (or so my wife says)
