I might suggest that a plain colored tie to compliment the color of the kilt will complete the look a bit better than the striped tie.

Yes I know, that was just a try to make sure that everything fits perfectly and I will get a nice purple silk tie to complete the outfit.

I met a couple from Scotland (Shethland) in the Sahara and they told me that HR is one of the best kiltmakers after I showed them a picture of me kilted.
