Well, for Pete's sake, somebody had to express them, since we couldn't find you to do it!!

When you are 6' 4" respect is automatic.

My wife and I had occasion to travel to Windsor Canada for a pipe band gig that I was a part of. Naturally, being a piper, I wore the complete kit not the Feather Bonett or Plaid but kilted from the gillies to the glengarry. However, my wife insisted that we stop at a local womans' store near home before making the trip across the border to Windsor. I accompanied her into the store (fully kilted) so she could use my credit card to purchase something (Sweetest Day you know.)

While she was shopping I stood by waiting sort of patiently. She smiled and said "You know you are causing a lot of women to walk into the racks, don't you? They're checking out your knees." I was glad to brighten an otherwise gloomy day (weatherwise)

While she was trying on her choices, I waited to pay by the cashier. She asked me, "Do you ever have a problem when you are out wearing the kilt?" I said, "No, I'm 6' 4" 300 lbs and I carry a wee knife in m' sock." She invited me back in kilt again so they could "check out your cute knees." To which my wife laughingly replied..."If he said something like that to a woman, he'd wind up in jail." I just headed for the car.

"You have to be pretty well set in your sexuality to be a piper, afterall you wear a skirt, kneesocks with ribbons at the top and a hat with ribbons trailing down behind your neck."

"A Kilt without a sporan is just a pleated skirt"

    "Respect"

Yup, I've been having wonderful positive reactions to my kilt as well. It's sure nice to have "respect."

Perhaps it was me, however in all fairness I heard back from several friends who went at other times stating that they saw a guy in a Kilt and it wasn't me.

Never really went anywhere, just sort of sitting around in companionable silence, listening to you all.
